What is a Diagnostic Assessment?

A diagnostic assessment is an in-depth process used to understand how someone learns, thinks, and processes information.

It is often carried out by a qualified specialist, such as an educational or specialist teacher assessor, and is designed to explore possible specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia (DCD), ADHD, or dyscalculia.
